The Diocese of St. Catharines is following the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario (ACBO) Worship Safe guidelines regarding the Covid 19 pandemic. Under these guidelines as a private entity and out of concern for those attending church, a Pastor is entitled to seek verification of mask exemptions. Those with valid exemptions should show the priest a note from a qualified physician or psychologist attesting to their exemption for a medical reason. Those with exemptions will be encouraged to strictly maintain social distancing at all times.
The dislike of wearing masks, age, or other condition is insufficient for the purpose of being exempted from wearing masks while attending at Mass or any other service. Those without proper exemptions will be asked to wear a mask and masks would be made available to them. Refusal to do so will result in denied entry into the church.
